The career graph of Laxmikant-Pyarelal took off when they met at Sureel Kala Kendra which was a children music academy owned by Mangeshkar family. The duo met Lata Mangeshkar their and when she recognised their talent as well as their financial condition, she recommend them to multiple music directors of the industry.

Their similar taste of music and similar backgrounds bought them together and they started spending their most of the time in recording studios where they learned a lot about composing music.

Although they started their journey as music directors in 1963 with movie ‘Parasmani’ but their career graph initiated in 1964 when they gave music to movie named ‘Dosti’. After that they managed to establish themselves as one of the famous music directors of the Indian cinema.

Laxmikant-Pyarelal worked with almost every famous directors of that era and also, they featured mostly A-class singers to sing their songs. Amazingly, they created around 700 songs with Lata Mangeshkar, around 402 songs with Kishore Kumar and around 388 songs with Mohammed Rafi.

They composed songs that are still memorable and simply ahead of its time. Even after the sudden demise of Laxmikant, Pyarelal composed music for some movies with the name Laxmikant-Pyarelal.
